Thlog#6

Last week in class we spent a lot of time talking about different writing tips and techniques like parallelism, and hedged/qualified claims. We also talked about WP2 because Wednesday we had our ‘shitty first draft’ due. I feel like I am having a lot harder time with even getting started with WP2 than the first writing project. I think it’s because we are being asked a lot of things in the prompt and there is a lot of information (conventions, rhetorical devices, ‘moves’) used in each of the articles we are asked to find, especially the scholarly articles. I am having a hard time trying to collect my thoughts and organize them well in a paper and am overall getting overwhelmed trying to identify as many ‘moves’ as possible (also kind of hard because one of the academic articles makes next to no sense to me, I’ve read it like 5 times and most of it just goes right over my head). My biggest struggle so far in writing WP2 is trying to stay organized in each paragraph and have a clear structure, since there’s several questions that ask us to compare and contrast certain things I have a hard time keeping a good structure that doesn’t stray too far from the main point of the paragraph.
